MARCH RECIPIENT

Our April G Coin recipient is Nadiia, who was nominated by our Assistant Principal for Athletics, Mr. Bates.

Nadiia transferred into Glenbard East at the beginning of the school year and has been a blessing for our school and athletic program, particularly Girls Wrestling. Most may think Nadiia is very quiet and selective with her social surroundings. On the contrary, Nadiia is very focused and results-driven.
Academically, she has overcome language barriers by taking full advantage of our EL program. All of her teachers enjoy her as a student and, more importantly, appreciate her efforts to strive daily. Athletically, she has, in her first year, helped take our girls wrestling program to its next level of potential.

In her respective weight class, Nadiia individually won the UpState Eight, IHSA Regional and IHSA Sectional championships. And to top off the season, she earned a third (3rd) place medal at the IHSA State Finals. We have only witnessed and enjoyed the beginning of Nadiia’s contribution to Glenbard East. More to come…

WHAT IS G COIN?

Each administrator at Glenbard East has a coin in his or her possession that looks like the one pictured below here. 

At some point during the school year, when a student showcases one or multiple areas of our PBIS shield by being observed doing something above and beyond, an administrator can give out the “G Coin.”
