IMPORTANT  REMINDER!  The school will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025 for Presidents’ Day.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

Attention all East students! Elektrik Fest tickets go on sale 2/12 – 2/14 for only $20! NEW this year: Your friends from the other Glenbards can attend the dance without a guest form! They will be able to purchase tickets on PushCoin on 2/12! You can also bring one guest from another school by filling out the district dance guest form found in the Dean’s Office or in Mr. Strange’s Office outside the cafeteria! Glenbard East students will be able to purchase tickets in person with cash each day in Mr. Strange’s Office or you will also be able to buy tickets through 5 Star (like Homecoming).  Please reach out to Mrs. Slusher, Ms. Miller or Ms. McLean if you have any questions! 

ANN’S CLOSET REMINDER – Ann’s closet is open this FRIDAY during ALL lunch periods. The closet is open to all Glenbard East students and staff who wish to “shop.” All items are FREE!  We welcome everyone to join us to look for new clothes or even to “recycle” your old clothes by donating them. Donation boxes are located by Door 1, in the library, in all FRCs, and the main office. Ann’s closet is open during all lunch periods on the 2nd and 4th FRIDAYS of every month and is located on the 1st floor under the J stairway.

Best Buddies: Join Best Buddies as we celebrate Valentine’s Day! Come make some sweet Valentines, play games, have some treats, and dance till you drop! Rm. 166 after-school on Wednesday, 2/12 until 4:20pm. Any questions ask [email protected].

Boys Gymnastics: Boys gymnastics season is coming soon. The first day of the season is February 18th. Meet in the gymnastics balcony which is located on the third floor at the end of the hallway after PLC. Make sure you are registered in your parents PowerShool, and have a current physical on file in the athletic office.  Questions contact Wayne Hill at [email protected]

BOYS VOLLEYBALL – Boys volleyball season is right around the corner! Open gyms begin on January 14th.  for our open gym schedule. Tryouts will be on March 10th and 11th (Freshman 330-530, Sophomore/Jr/Sr 530-8). Email Coach Cardott @ [email protected] with any questions.

Don’t miss Glenbard East’s production of Moana Jr. on Thursday, February 13 at 7 PM, and Saturday, February 15 at 2 PM & 7 PM at Rider Hall. Tickets can be purchased online  at gefinearts.org or at the door. Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for adults.

Glenbard East’s Parenting class needs YOUR expertise and life experience!  As we are learning about different family structures and children’s needs I would love to pull together a panel of staff members to offer firsthand information about these topics. Our “Parenting Panel” will take place on Friday, February 14th, during the 7th period from 1:29-2:12. Thank-you so much, the students really love learning more about their teachers!  

MCN: Sailing the Seven Seas: Join us for District 87’s Multicultural Night on Thursday, February 20th from 7-9 pm in Glenbard East’s Biester Auditorium. Cheer on your friends and bring your family to celebrate the different cultures represented at Glenbard!  Admission is free. See you there! 🙂

NEHS: We will have a required meeting on Friday, February 21, at 7:30 am in Room 309.  We look forward to seeing you then!

PRISM: Join Glenbard East’s PRISM club this Wednesday, 2/12/25 where members of our LGBTQ+ community can connect with one another, share experiences, relax, and have fun! PRISM aims to promote acceptance, understanding, and support of all students in our community. All are welcome regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We will meet from 3:00-4:00 pm in room 202 on the first Wednesday of every month. New and continuing members are always welcome! Special Olympics Basketball: We’re going to state for the first time in 5 years!  Catch the spirit and support us by buying a t-shirt.  Shirts will be on sale January 27 – February 14.  For more information or contact [email protected] or [email protected] with any questions.

Student Council: Your Student Council wants you to buy a Valentine’s Day Candy Gram!  Deliver a personal message and treat for only $1.00.  Sales begin Monday February 10th – Wednesday February 12th.  Delivery will take place on Valentine’s Day, Friday February 14th.  Send a message to a friend, a teacher, or a special someone!

STRIVE:  Get help staying caught up with your workload.  Come to STRIVE after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in Room 251 (across from the cafeteria) to work with STRIVE teachers.
